Build anything we can dream up using cardboard, recycled materials and IMAGINATION! |

DESIGNING A CARDBOARD CITY
As part of the Global Cardboard Challenge, we decided to create Ozobot City - a place for our new Ozobots to call home. We shared our ideas, thoughts, and imaginations then split our group up into smaller departments (e.g., housing, education, transportation, health, security).
We started by drawing a FUTURE PICTURE - what we want the city to look like when it's done!

Using only cardboard and other recyclables - our architects went straight to work. We built cars, apartment buildings, a jail and even a movie theater with help from our Make Do tools!
learning OZOBOT language
How do you say LEFT, RIGHT, STRAIGHT, FAST, and SLOW in Ozobot language? Problem solving through trial and error is the only way to find out. Watch us crack the code!
Ozobot city
A welcome home party - cheering the Ozobots as they explore their new digs. From tunnels to schools, charging stations to apartment buildings, and museums to hospitals... did we mention the train depot and mega mall?

Thanks to our friends at MakeDo and Ozobot for all the inspiration!
Escape the zoo (or don't!)
After hearing about the Zoo in Tbilisi, Georgia the kids decided to make a zoo where such an 'escape' would not be possible. Using Duple legos, bright sensor-activated lights and alarms they took on the challenge!
Thanks to littleBits for the power and Grand St / Etsy for connecting the wires!

eARTH dAY cHALLENGE, APRIL 22ND 2016
The Imagination Foundation partnered with Time Warner Cable to launch an Earth Day - Cardboard Challenge, and we were ready! We found inspiration in the work of the graffiti artist and activist, Mundano who gave a TED Talk in 2014 about his incredible project - "Pimp My Carroça." After watching the talk the kids immediately began to talk of the "Catadores" they'd seen in their neighborhoods collecting recyclables and sorting junk. The connection between their lives and Brazil - a seeming world away - was exciting to them as they called out, "We have them here too!" Upon further discussion they unanimously agreed - these workers were "Superhero Earth Savers." So, for Earth Day they built a 99% recycled cart (Super Cart 2000) made of old cardboard and cereal boxes (thank you MakeDo for the tools to keep it together!). Best of all - it works! They used the cart to collect all their recycled left overs, prompting fierce debates over what was recyclable and what wasn't.
